Love rut

"If you feel discouraged when there's a lack of colour here.
Please don't worry lover, its really bursting at the seams from absorbing everything the spectrum's A to Z."

"It stung like a violent wind, that our memories depend on a  faulty camera in our mind. But I knew that you were a truth I would rather lose, than to have never lain beside at all."

"Love is watching someone die.

So who's gonna watch you die?"

le Boyfr brought me to have the best Laksa in +65. I kid you not, this laksa IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE. Fiery hot and creamy, its everything you need in a laksa. If you're interested to try it, its located at Alexandra Food Village (which is the hawker centre opposite Queensway Shopping Centre). YOU HAVE TO TRY IT.

...

One day before Christmas eve, love my makeup so much that day but I ended up staying at home all the way till dinner time. So lame!!

Christmas2012 with le boyfr and his friends as per the tradition; but this year everyone seemed so tired, including me! I was napping like a boss shortly after the clock struck 12~

photo credit to @iamjy_ & grabbed from le boyfr's FB;

Not the full attendance but I am so glad that my boyfr has this huge group of buddies who he can rely on no matter what. Not to mention funny bunch of people :D

...

Mooja Mookata with le boyfr on a random Wednesday night for dinner thanks to Francesca's blog giveaway :D And I am how lucky please! The food was fab!!

Unlike the other Mookata outlets, Moojaa focuses on providing quality ingredients so Wagyu beef and Kurobuta pork is no surprise on the menu!

Looks can be deceiving because this chilli can fight with the other mookata outlet chilli! Its like super duper spicy so chilli lovers! You are safe to patronise this outlet! Their chilli won't let you down!! :D

My absolute favourite! Cheese meatballs :D The cheese inside is like the cheese they use in Nachos, sooooo good!!!!!!!

Baby loves MooJaa too :P

...

My mini haul on a random Friday night; Loving my Zara heels which I got on sale and the FeistHeist shorts that I got from Blackmarket at Central :D

My OOTD on the next day, loved them so much I couldn't wait wearing!! :D

A family dinner at Itacho; I love bringing my family out for dinner :D Okay, my brother and I, not just me :P

...

My new nails which I did at Love & Pamper Nails. Mad love them and imagine this set (Classic Gelish Manicure) only costs $55! Damn worth it! Go visit them okay because they are located at a very secluded part of Bugis Village so they might have to relocate to a home salon as they are not getting enough business to sustain! Damn sad because its quite hard to find a good and reliable yet cheap nail salon!! :(

Found this awesome Mexican restaurant at Holland Village with BFF, Magnebro and CEO bro! It was so good I had to bring le boyfr there the next day!!

Complimentary basket of corn chips with homemade salsa whenever you dine there :P

PRAWN BURRITO!!!!!! If you love spicy food, this is the bomb! For $18 you get so much diced prawns inside it, soooo good!!!

Not the most appetizing photo but its the best I could do. Look at that chunk of prawn! :O

You guys make me so happy, you guys will always be one of the best parts of my life :')

My better half; I love you bb :)

Finally cleared my room yesterday and its looking good again :D Love chilling in my room when its neat LOL!

So abrupt ending here, will update when something interesting happens :P Meanwhile take care :)

2012, death &the new year;

Hello, how has 2012 been treating you so far. Mine's been pretty alright. Could definitely do better, but I am thankful.

So as mentioned in my previous post, end December 2012 was shit for me. Family issues prior to Christmas 2012 that I lost whatever anticipation I had for Christmas. Christmas has always been super special to me and I always thought NOTHING could ever make me feel less during Christmas but I guess there's a first to everything.

And as if whatever happened during Christmas wasn't enough to dampen my mood for the NY, my uncle passed away on 30 December 2012. A wee few hours to NY eve. I wasn't exactly best buds with my uncle, we weren't even close; but the thought of death occurring so damn close scares me. It still does. When I close my eyes, I picture my uncle on his deathbed. It still bothers me. Did we do enough? My uncle was a bachelor, so we were his closest, his only. And when he was still around, he'd always ask my brother was I working and when I'd go to visit him. I always reschedule because I never knew what to talk to him about. He was born in 1940, China, speaks only Teochew and Mandarin and I am an awkward Mandarin speaker. But I am sort of relieved that I did visit him one day before his passing at the hospital. And he asked me if I was happy at work. Maaaan, I feel like crying again.

My uncle is perhaps the strongest person I've ever known. He was 11 when he got into some kinda accident. Since then, he couldn't walk anymore and he uses his crutches to move around. He stayed with my grandmother till she passed in 2004. After that, he shifted from Bugis to Bukit Batok just to be closer to my family. Then at age 64, he insisted that he'd rather live alone than to stay in a nursing home. His love for photography triumph his physical limitations because you'd never see him let his handicap get in the way of him pursuing his interests.

Living alone with only the occasional visits from my brother and my father, he must have been so lonely. Lonely, old and handicapped. Yet he didn't stop fighting. In a way I am glad that he has passed because it seems to me that he lived a difficult life. He truly deserves a rest now and I really hope that he is happier now, wherever he is.

Going through all these emotions lately, got me so frightened whenever I picture my parents in that exact state. I can't even..

So I am not hoping much in the new year.

2013; all I am asking is for the people I love to be happy and healthy.

Let everyone I love tide through 2013 with happiness. Nobody leaves.

X.

Zoukout 2012

I know I know, so disgustingly late, this post is. I apologize. December 2012 was a crazy whirl, especially so towards the end.

So this year's Zoukout was split into 2 days, and I only went for Day 2. Main highlight to me for Day 2 was hands down Knife Party. It was AMAZEBALLS, we were like SO EFFING CLOSE to them Knife Party I was so stoked!!!

Their entire set was absofuckinglutely terrific, they played Greyhound, Centipede on top of the other tracks I featured in the above video. Thats what I love most with attending music festivals like Zoukout; getting just completely lost in the music you love~ It was a true pity I could only confirm my attendance to Zoukout 2012 a mere 2 days before the event itself so none of my usual party crew could attend :( 2013, LEZGO ALRIGHTY MATES?

Anyways, I looked through my camera photos and videos of that day and guess what, no pictures of ME AT ALL O.O WHAT THE HELL RIGHT. So I conclude that there are basically 3 types of people who attend Zoukout/music festivals:

  1. People who genuinely go for the music and only the music/experience; yknow, just there to immerse and soak everything up and have a good time.
  2. People who attend for the sake of attending; they usually don't know shit about the music and just go because "yeah we party cause we cool like that and whooooaaa good song, who plays it?" and cite "David Guetta" as the world's best DJ (pfftt)
  3. People who are half (1) & (2).

So usually I am number (3) but I guess this year I went number (1).

I am quite bummed though, Porter Robinson & Calvin Harris both played Madeon's Icarus but I wasn't part of the crowd when they did. I was either loitering somewhere near the bars or waiting at the toilets. So so so bummed. :( HAISH.

All in all, Zoukout 2012 was awesome for Knife Party and Knife Party only. Wish my usual party crew went along cause it would have been so rad! :(
