There is so many fantastic bands out there, waiting for us to uncover them. Just found one gem of a song last night when I watched the TOPSHOP SS13 show on youtube. Listening to it makes me wanna rent a dingy motel room with flickering neon lights outside, laying on the bed with an oversized white tee, smoking a cigg.

Was reading flowerpod on career in Banking and chanced upon this person's quote on (the defence) of CPF with regards to the usual thrash talk most Singaporeans have on CPF.

"If CPF is that bad, would you prefer the pension scheme of Aus? You don't have control over your monies as well, you put it in a superannuation fund, leaving it up to fund managers to manage your money. And your pension monies may even end in a loss without capital protection; very much different from your CPF since they're capital guaranteed with interest(assuming you leave it there without losing money on CPFIS investments yourself).

How about paying up to income tax of up to 45% of your annual income? Then you can "happily" contribute to the bums on the streets who claim unemployment benefits.

With regards to disagreeing with the Govt over something you don't like... Just look at Greece. Disagreeing with austerity measures... simply for their own sake of having money on their table; but without austerity, their economy will crumble which would ultimately affect their jobs. The thing is, many commoners tend to be narrow minded imbeciles who are unable to see the big picture and consequences. 

I don't quite get what you're trying to say... But since you're complaining, I guess you're saying that YOU want to work in our neighbouring countries like Malaysia/Indo/Thailand etc since it's better there?

Lastly, I guess we should just adopt a closed door policy. No foreign talents, no foreign investments either. GS, CS, JPM, DB, BarCap etc please pack your offices and send your management team & staff back home. Singapore doesn't welcome you."

Super duper overdue video! Back when I still had my light brown shoulder length hair :P 

Sooo, I apologise for using so many "sooo" and "okayyy". Nervous eh.

Anyways, the cybercolours mascara is really good imho. There was really a period of time that I only used sunblock, drew my brows and mascara-ed cause that was more than sufficient. A good mascara is really worth investing in, so why not invest in something not exorbitantly priced (i.e. Dior/Lancome), and get a drugstore brand that works just as well? :D

I have got this unhealthy obsession with luxurious living. I can spend hours on end, browsing lifestyle blogs, and websites with images of people living it up. Beautiful clothes, fast cars, pure indulgence. Its so sinful, I can't help but to look and wish I could one day live like this too. 

Is it wrong to want money? Money doesn't make me happy, but money lets me buy things that make me happy. 2012; all everyone wants is money.

While looking for a suitable picture for this entry, I came across this. And so true :)

Nerves

As the day approaches, I am feeling more and more nervous. I swear, the build up to SIA interview doesn't make me as nervous as this does. I really want this so bad. Please tell me I won't screw it up bad this time. Just this once. Please.

Credibility

Since I was reading up on Social Media, thought I would share my views on our local social networking scene.

I have heard of such "marketing schemes", just never really went too in depth into it till today. 

According to Elizabeth Soh, her article talks about how hypes actually come about. Have you wondered how Blogging in Singapore has become something that is very real, and is now a proper form of full time employment? Bloggers such as Beatrice Tan actually quit their "normal" jobs to concentrate fully on lifestyle blogging. However, there are online personalities that suddenly boom in popularity when usually popular bloggers amass followers and readers gradually. Apparently it is now very easy and quite cheap to purchase fake followers.

As a fellow blogger (albeit not a very popular one), I would say blogging is no walk in the park. It is tedious to upload tons of photos in one entry. It is frustrating when you get writer's block. You have to constantly churn out quality reading materials or at least something mildly entertaining like a funny video of you doing a Oppa Gangnam Style parody to ensure your readership doesn't deteriorate due to lack of substantial content. But even a video needs editing and editing is time consuming. In short, blogging takes a lot of effort. 

In my opinion, to be be a successful blogger, your blog either needs to have really well taken pictures/ you are some what good looking because ultimately, humans are very visual creatures. We are at times, superficial and like things that look good on the surface before we delve for some substance. OR you genuinely have things to say and you know how to put it across to your readers in a way that keeps them wanting to know more about your opinions and views. If you have both? Lucky you! Look at Xiaxue, she takes appealing pictures (of herself most of the time) and her blog content is fresh and sarcastically funny. 

But after reading the articles, and you realized that there are people out there who buy followers? Ever since I started blogging more frequently at the beginning of the year, I went from 30views a day, to now 500 views a day. And its really not easy! So I actually feel indignant that there are such people out there. 

How credible are our online personalities? How truly popular are the popular online personalities and which ones have had to resort to purchasing readers, followers and subscribers?
