Medzs

My daddy had his 60th birthday on 18 May this year. As always, being the foodie we are, we decided to venture to new grounds for his 60th birthday dinner! :D Walked around Marina area and settled for Medzs because we haven't tried Medzs before and Mediterranean food! :O

Korkor ordered this. I forgot the exact name of this but I remember it to taste something like a milder version of our mutton curry! They serve it with what may seem like rice to you, but its actually "cush-cush". Interesting texture, really similar to rice but you just know its not. :S

Daddy's grilled salmon steak! Its very hard to go wrong with salmon, no? But the star of this dish wasn't the salmon but the mashed potato! Read on to find out why :D 

Mama's seafood paella :D Think of it as the Mediterranean's version of Mui Fan. Tasty and flavorful, om nom nom :D

THE STAR OF THE NIGHT. LE DUCK LEG CONFIT. OMG. SO FUCKING GOOD. Yknow there are some food that just gets you nodding as you eat them? THIS IS THE MOTHER OF NODS.

WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN? Ok after I ate this, I went home to google the recipe. I mean this is so good I wanted to see what makes it so good and if possible am I able to recreate this dish at home. So let me put the recipe in layman terms for you.

Duck legs. Duck fat. Boil the duck fat. Immerse duck legs in duck fat. Refrigerate the whole damn thing. Feel like eating duck leg confit? Take it out, thaw it. Boil it. Take out desired amount of duck leg. Heat pan, sear duck leg skin down. Remove from heat. Serve with sautéed mushrooms and roasted potato.

#motherofgod. Duck fat is the best damn fat ever. This dish is OMFG, imagine moist and tender meat, coupled with crispy duck skin. JUST INDESCRIBABLE YOU HAVE TO TRY IT TO GET WHAT I MEAN. :')

AND BEST DAMN MASHED POTATO I'VE EVER TRIED. GARLICKY, ULTRA MEGA CREAMY LIKE THEY DUMPED ONE WHOLE BARREL OF CREAM INTO THE POTATO AND SO SMOOTH. :O:O:O

Ok /wipesdrools, enough about the mains, onto desserts! ^^

Tiramisu, is a very dangerous dessert. Don't ever talk when you have some in your mouth, cause I choked whilst having Tiramisu! D: Damn you cocoa powder!

BAKLAVA~~~ Don't think you'll find this easily in Singapore. Prior to having this, I was watching me favorite "Good Eats" on Foodnetwork Asia, and Alton Brown was showing the viewers how to make Baklava! Ten thousands layers of idk what thing its was just slowly layer by layer together with sugar syrup and nuts. VERY VERY GOOD. Unhealthy but worth a bite once in awhile ^^

Souffle. Your classic french dessert. Something about pouffy airy confectionary that makes people happy. Definitely better than Bakerzin's :D

Usually if you see a post with no personal pictures of mine, I probably drafted it at work ^^ Random post here to note down a couple of things I need to remember:

1. Eyebrow embroidery? - I've been getting feedback that my brows are overdrawn :( /wails I'm sorry I suck at brow shaping and my eyebrows are practically non-existant :( So perhaps I should just invest a little and get someone to tell me how my brows should be drawn! 
2. Get a gym membership? - Seriously got to get my fat butt down to exercising. Been sporting the almost double chin look and thunder thighs since forever and its high time I got down to busting them fats!
3. what else did I wanna consider.. I am bad at this memory game!

Random sidenote, I wanna cut bangs again! Saw this picture and feel so inspired! But, chances are when I cut bangs it won't look like this. And I'll spend the next few months whining about how I shouldn't have cut them bangs and how I miss my long fringe. After which the cycle continues..

Jaybee with le BFF somewhere in early May :D Whats not to love about JB. Yes its not very safe for two girls to go. But cheap food, cheap mani pedi, cheap clothes, cheap food... CHEAP AND GOOD FOOD OMGAHHHH~

Every weekend its a fight to go across the causeway, long queues at the bus stop, long queues at the custom, long queue on ze causeway..

So difficult to come across a lovely plot of empty land in Singapore, but in Malaysia (and possibly anywhere else) its a different story. Something about big generators on green grass with blue sky backdrop thats sooooo.. therapeutic. :D

Kenny Rogers for lunch but what a disappointing lunch :( 

Disgusting side dishes, only thing that was good was the chicken. :( Sadddddd... But very cheap~ Same price as SG but in RM :D So if you're there eat Manhattan instead! :D 

BEST FUCKING SHIT EVER. THEY FUCKING CARVE OUT THE FUCKING COCONUT FOR YOU. THIS WHITE BLOB OF GOODNESS IS INTACT WITH ALL THEM JUICES INSIDE. OMG FUCKING GOOD SHIT OMG. OMG. I CANNOT STOP. Btw, this is at Aeon Tebrau City which is pretty far in. If you wanna try this, take a cab and tell the uncle, Jusco/Tesco/Aeon Tebrau City ^^ Its at the entrance of Tesco :D

Our original plan was to catch a movie, but there wasn't any good slots, or good movies so we went to do our nails instead. There are a lot of nail palours in KSL, but make sure you get into a not so shady one :D Look at their nail art samples, you can tell a lot from there :D

Super cheap and good I wanna cry :') le BFF and mine altogether only cost approximately SGD$120 :') All Gelish plus mine has acrylic ribbons and 10 diamantes. :') #IMPOSSIBRU~ Comment if you wanna know what shop I went to :D
